MAX3075EESA+

MAX3075EESA+ is a +3.3V, ±15kV ESD-protected, fail-safe, hot-swap, RS-485 transceiver. It features one driver and one receiver. This device includes fail-safe circuitry, guaranteeing a logic high receiver output when receiver inputs are open or shorted. The receiver outputs a logic-high if all transmitters on a terminated bus are disabled (high impedance). The device includes a hot-swap capability to eliminate false transitions on the bus during power-up or hot insertion. MAX3075E features slew-rate-limited driver but allows transmit speeds up to 500kbps. Typical applications include lighting systems, industrial control, telecom, security systems and instrumentation.

• Intended for half-duplex communication
• Features independently programmable receiver and transmitter output phase through separate pins
• Transceiver draws 800μA of supply current when unloaded, or when fully loaded with drivers disabled
• 1/8-unit load receiver input impedance, allowing up to 256 transceivers on the bus
• Temperature range from -40°C to +85°C
• Available in 8 pin SOIC package
