Answers

A: 
In NTC the thermal conductivity will decrease with increasing temperature, You should check the requirement of Resistance and current of NTC for your circuit, this selected NTC might be drawing more current as you mentioned it is getting Heat-up, hence the current capacity of the device with respective to resistance should be changed.
(in your case resistance is 2ohm) and the max current it can withstand is 25A)
