Product Overview
The PCF8591P is a 8bit A/D and D/A converter in 16 pin DIP package. It is a single chip, single supply, low power 8bit CMOS data acquisition device with four analogue inputs, one analogue output and serial I2C bus interface. Three address pins A0, A1 and A2 are used for programming hardware address allowing to use up to eight devices connected to I2C bus without additional hardware. Address, control and data to and from the device are transferred serially via two line bidirectional I2C bus. The functions of PCF8591P includes analogue input multiplexing, onchip track and hold function, 8bit analogue to digital conversion and 8bit digital to analogue conversion. The maximum conversion rate is given by maximum speed of the I2C bus.
