Product Overview

The C0603X104K5RACTU from Kemet is a X7R dielectric material, flexible termination system (FT-CAP) commercial grade multilayer ceramic chip capacitor. The MLCC X7R dielectric material exhibits a predictable change in capacitance with respect to time and voltage. MLCCs are monolithic device consists of laminated layers of specially formulated, ceramic dielectric materials interspersed with a metal electrode system. The layered formation is then fired at high temperature to produce a sintered and volumetrically efficient capacitance device. This FT-CAP multilayer ceramic capacitor in X7R dielectric incorporates a unique, flexible termination system integrated with standard termination. This technology was developed to address primary failure mode of MLCCs such as flex cracks which results excessive tensile and shear stresses produced during board flexure and thermal cycling. It inhibits transfer of board stress to rigid ceramic body therefore mitigating flex cracks.
