Great option for embedded controller prototyping Before you get too influenced by the Rasberry Pi fanatics, decide what you need to do and then select this if it fits your need. If you need the full Rasberry Pi then get that but it's WAY overkill for the majority of embedded designs that you might consider doing with Atmel/Arduino stuff but need more processing capability or just don't want to do a bunch of work on old hardware and want to have some headroom. What this really is is a Cortex M3 embedded controller prototyping board or small volume/one off applications. Great because it's better supported than a lot of other Cortex M3 based boards. Plus it provides a bridge to Rasberry Pi stuff if you need that. I found this a great option to Due as I prefer STM to the Atmel M3 implementation. July 15, 2013
How about two strikes Hardware is excellent. Right out of the box you can use discrete I/o with your Rpi. That's it. No Analogs without programming it with another Ide and hardware debugger that. only runs on windows. Debugger not included. If you are a skilled user of Coocox ide and stm programming, the thing will dance for you. Otherwise, there's just a couple of demos out there, partially implemented, and you cant run those without buying the debugger and setting up coide on a pc running windows. I have jumped all of the hurdles, and can't figure out what makes this as good as serially connecting pi to an uno. June 23, 2013
not too useful, I think... I see lots of applications which hook up sensors diectly to a raspi. But the raspi, it seems to me, is a much better option as a gateway for dozens of sensors; all the sensors in your home, for example; wirelessly accessibly via radio based sensors, like xbee... This seems fun for a one time project that needs an arduino attached to a raspi... May 10, 2013
