Product Overview
OPB842W51Z is a slotted optical switch. It provides the design engineer with the flexibility of a custom device from a standard product line. Housings are made from an opaque grade of injection-molded plastic that minimizes the assembly’s sensitivity to visible and near-infrared ambient radiation. Switching of the phototransistor occurs whenever an opaque object passes through the slot and interrupts the beam. Applications include non-contact interruptive object sensing, assembly line automation, machine automation, equipment security, and machine safety.

- 0.050” emitter aperture, 0.010” sensor aperture
- Storage and operating temperature range from -40°C to +80°C
- Input diode forward DC current is 50mA at TA = 25°C
- Peak forward current (1µs pulse width, 300pps) is 1A at TA = 25°C
- Forward voltage is 1.7V max at IF = 20mA, TA = 25°C
- Reverse current is 100µA maximum at VR = 2V, TA = 25°C
