Conflict Minerals and Responsible Sourcing
Newark is committed to source minerals responsibly and avoid sourcing minerals that contribute to armed conflict or human rights abuses in conflict affected and high-risk areas (CAHRAs), including the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) or adjoining countries. "Conflict minerals" include tantalum, tin, tungsten, and gold, and are used in many electronic components and computer products.
As part of Avnet Inc., we participate in Avnet’s annual conflict minerals program. An output of this program is our aggregated CMRT, based on individual supplier CMRTs, that we offer as a service to our customers.
