FTB-1

FTB-1 is a fiber training box. It is a compact and practical tool designed to help fiber optic technicians gain hands-on experience with real-world scenarios. It features built-in loss events, including a macrobend and a damaged fiber optic cable, to simulate common issues in the field. With a 1 km fiber link containing a mid-point fault, technicians can practice OTDR setup, testing, and troubleshooting. The additional fiber spools allow for fusion splicing exercises and loss testing to develop essential fiber optic skills.

• Cleave and splice fiber optic cables using a fiber optic cleaver and fusion splicer
• Inspect and clean connectors and bulkheads with a video inspection probe and cleaning tools
• Identify fiber faults efficiently with a visual fault locator
• Measure fiber loss accurately with optical power meters and light sources
• Operate an OTDR in auto or manual modes to measure fiber length and loss
