Product Overview

The SL12 10006 is a radial leaded NTC (Negative Temperature Coefficient) Thermistor for inrush current limiting applications. The SL series inrush current limiters are an effective way of limiting the inrush of current that can damage components in a switching power supply and other power devices when the equipment is turned on. Inrush current limiters present an initial high resistance to electrical current and quickly heat up to a negligible resistance after the current flows through. The inrush current limiter is normally placed in series with the diode bridge, motor or other components of a system that benefit from inrush protection. For added protection, two surge limiters can be placed in series. A surge limiter typically occupies half the space as a similarly rated fixed resistor, provides a higher level of inrush current limiting and its resistance drops to a negligible level.
