The Nordic Thingy:91 is a compact, battery-powered IoT prototyping kit designed to accelerate cellular IoT development. Supporting LTE-M, NB-IoT, and GNSS, it allows engineers to quickly move from concept to proof-of-concept, demo, or early prototype without complex setup.
Built around the nRF9160 System-in-Package (SiP), the Thingy:91 is certified across a wide range of LTE bands, making it deployable almost anywhere. Integrated GNSS enables precise positioning, and a preloaded asset tracking application provides a ready-made starting point for connected products.
The kit includes a variety of onboard sensors for motion, environmental monitoring, and impact detection, all supported by the nRF Connect SDK with prebuilt examples. An onboard nRF52840 SoC adds Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity for hybrid wireless applications.
Additional functionality can be added through the debug board or expansion board connectors, compatible with Qwiic, STEMMA QT, and Grove. Ideal for logistics, smart city, smart agriculture, predictive maintenance, wearables, and medical applications, the Thingy:91 provides a complete, ready-to-use platform for rapid IoT prototyping.
