Design and develop embedded Linux, industrial, and HMI applications with the Microchip EV63J76A SAMA7D65 Curiosity Kit.

The EV63J76A is a development kit designed for evaluating and prototyping with the Microchip SAMA7D65 microprocessor (MPU). The SAMA7D65 is a high-performance ARM® Cortex®-A7–based embedded MPU operating at speeds up to 1 GHz. The board enables evaluation of powerful peripherals for connectivity, audio, and user-interface applications, including MIPI-DSI and LVDS display interfaces with 2D graphics support, dual Gigabit Ethernet with TSN, and CAN-FD.
The MPU integrates advanced security features such as tamper detection, secure boot, secure key storage, TRNG, PUF, and high-performance cryptographic accelerators for AES and SHA. The SAMA7D65 series is supported by Microchip’s MPLAB® X development tools, MPLAB Harmony v3, Linux distributions, and the Microchip Graphics Suite (MGS) for Linux. The SAMA7D65 is well suited for industrial and automotive applications, supporting graphical displays up to WXGA/720p.

This demo showcases a smart factory monitoring system using embedded devices to simulate real industrial equipment such as pumps, compressors, cranes, and inspection systems. Telemetry is securely transmitted to the cloud, where real-time KPIs—like utilization, duty cycles, rejection rates, and anomaly detection—are calculated using DURATION-based logic. The system demonstrates how manufacturers can gain operational insights, trigger alerts, and improve uptime without requiring physical assets on-site.
