Vishay AY1 Automotive-Grade AC Capacitors come in two varieties: Class X1 and Class Y1. They are ceramic disc modules. The Class Y1 devices are made for a 500VAC rated voltage, whereas the Class X1 capacitors are made for 260VAC. The Vishay AY1 Automotive Grade AC Capacitors can tolerate 1000 temperature cycles and pass the 85/85/1000h test. High reliability and a single-layer AC disk are features of the AEC-Q200 approved AY1 safety capacitors. Common uses include filter capacitors on DC/DC converters for electric cars (EVs), hybrid EVs (HEVs), and plug-in hybrid EVs (PHEVs), as well as AC line filters and primary-secondary coupling on battery chargers.
