Newark Introduces Tyco Electronics Hot-Pluggable Connectors for Lighting Ballasts

CHICAGO-JANUARY 16, 2008

Light-N-Lok connectors meet new US & Canadian standards, prevent electrical shock hazards

Newark (www.newark.ca), part of the global Premier Farnell Group, and a leading multi-channel, high-service electronics distributor supporting millions of engineers and purchasing professionals across the Americas, is pleased to announce that it is among the first to carry the new Tyco Electronics Light-N-Lok connectors for fluorescent ballast applications, designed to meet both the US National and Canadian Electrical Codes, and prevent unintentional disconnects and shocks.

Tyco Electronics Light-N-Lok connectors provide a hot-pluggable disconnect to allow safe servicing for commercial lighting per UL 2459, without exposure to electrical shock hazards. They feature an integral strain relief to maximize wire retention by preventing inadvertent wire twisting and pullout. Dual squeeze-to-release latches also provide additional security by preventing unintentional disconnects.

“Maintenance professionals can count on us for the latest products to help them do their job more efficiently and safely,” comments Paul Buckley, Senior VP, Product & Supplier Management, Newark. “With the largest selection of connectors of any electronics distributor, they can also rely on us to stock just about any interconnect solution.”

Newark’s huge selection of Tyco Electronics’ interconnect products is available for same-day shipping at www.newark.ca/tyco.
