On the road to zero emissions

Components for safer, more reliable electrical generation, storage, and charging

Omron has the power relays, sensors and connectors required for modern energy generation, storage and use.

As a global manufacturer with key competence in sensing and control technology, Omron provides an array of dependable and highly qualified electro-mechanical components that drive the performance, reliability, and safety of electrical equipment. For commercial buildings which account for a large amount of energy consumption, efforts are being called to reach “zero emission”. In residential, households are increasingly generating power to recharge electrical devices and vehicles. In both cases, this is achieved by the installation of stable renewable energy sources such as solar photovoltaic power generation systems and storage batteries. With these efforts, we are coming closer to realizing a decentralized society that does not rely on conventional power sources.

Featured applications

PV inverters

PV inverters

Recent development of mega-solar photovoltaic power generation systems is looking more into increasing the capacity of decentralized PV inverters to maximize power generation and reduce maintenance costs.

As PV inverters are being tailored to handle more and more power, the design of heat dissipation becomes challenging. To solve that, Omron has developed new lines of relays G9KA and G7EB that have the lowest contact resistance in the market. The new models minimize loss and generate less heat, allowing the designers to use smaller cooling fans and smaller heat sinks, thus reducing overall costs and improving efficiency
