Product Overview
PCF8563T/F4,118 is a PCF8563 CMOS real-time clock (RTC) and calendar optimized for low power consumption. A programmable clock output, interrupt output, and voltage-low detector are also provided. All addresses and data are transferred serially via a two-line bidirectional I²C-bus. Maximum bus speed is 400 kbit/s. The register address is incremented automatically after each written or read data byte. It is used in applications such as mobile telephones, portable instruments, electronic metering, and battery-powered products. It provides year, month, day, weekday, hours, minutes, and seconds based on a 32.768KHz quartz crystal.
- Century flag, clock operating voltage from 1V to 5.5V at room temperature
- 400KHz two-wire I²C-bus interface (at VDD = 1.8V to 5.5V)
- Alarm and timer functions, integrated oscillator capacitor, open-drain interrupt pin
- Internal power-on reset (POR), I²C-bus address: read A3h and write A2h
- 300mW maximum total power dissipation
- 7pF maximum input capacitance
- Operating temperature range from -40°C +85°C
- SO8 package
- Supply voltage is 5.5V maximum (interface inactive, Tamb = -40°C to +85°C)
