Product Overview

The MAX5135GTG+ from Maxim Integrated Products is a pin/software compatible, 12bit, voltage output DAC in 24 pin TQFN package. It is a low power, quad 12bit, buffered voltage-output, high-linearity DAC. This device accepts a wide +2.7V to +5.25V supply voltage range to accommodate most low power and low voltage applications. It also accept a 3-wire SPI/QSPI/MICROWIRE/DSP compatible serial interface to save board space and reduce the complexity of optically isolated and transformer isolated applications. The digital interface’s double buffered hardware and software active-low LDAC provide simultaneous output updates. It include a hardware input to reset DAC outputs to zero or midscale upon power-up or reset providing additional safety for applications that drive valves or transducers that need to be off during power-up. The high linearity of the DACs makes this device ideal for precision control and instrumentation applications.
  • Hardware selectable to zero/midscale DAC output on power-up or reset
  • Uses a precision internal reference or a precision external reference for rail to rail operation
  • Double buffered input registers, 2.5mA supply current, -40°C to 105°C operating temperature range
  • High performance 10ppm/°C internal reference, 1.25V/μs voltage output slew rate
  • Low gain error of less than ±0.5%FS and offset less than ±10mV
  • CMOS compatible inputs with hysteresis
  • Low power consumption of ISHDN = 2μA max
  • Integral nonlinearity of +0.25LSB (VREFI = 5V, VAVDD = 5.25V), differential nonlinearity of +1LSB
  • ±1mV offset error, ±0.2% of FS gain error
  • Active-low READY facilitates daisy chaining
