Newark's 2009 Catalog Showcases Expanded Component Selection In Environmentally-friendly Formats
CHICAGO, SEPTEMBER 16, 2008
Newark, part of the global Premier Farnell Group, and a leading multi-channel, high-service electronics distributor supporting millions of engineers and purchasing professionals across the Americas, announces that its new Catalog 126 features more than 27,000 newly added products, primarily semiconductors, optoelectronics and passive components from 440+ top suppliers including Analog Devices, Microchip, Texas Instruments, NXP, Maxim, National Semiconductor and Linear Technology.
This year the catalog is available in both recycled paper and online formats. The print catalog uses soy-based ink and is printed on recycled paper with a minimum of 45% post-consumer content, the highest percentage Newark has used. A cold-set printing process was employed that requires less energy. The online format is interactive and allows customers to browse, search and buy from its "pages."
"Our multi-channel approach and our commitment to supplying design engineers with the latest technologies are key elements in our global strategy," comments Barry Litwin, Senior VP, Marketing, Newark. "With our latest catalog, our customers will not only find a much wider choice of board-level components, they'll have two environmentally-responsible options to do business with us."
Catalog 126 can be accessed online at www.newark.ca/ecats and ordered at no charge at www.newark.ca/catalog. The catalog is a subset of the 3.7 million products that are available at www.newark.ca
149,000 products are featured in Catalog 126. Beyond components, electromechanical products, connectors, wiring, tools and test equipment are included in the broad offering. Based on feedback from customers, a number of improvements were implemented in the new catalog to enable faster product comparison and selection. For example, semiconductors and optoelectronics are subdivided by technology and there is a new enclosures and thermal management section.
