The 8601 CAL DU from B&K Precision is an 8600 series programmable DC electronic load. It provides performance of modular system DC electronic load in a compact benchtop form factor. With fast transient operation speeds up to 25KHz and high 16bit measurement resolution and accuracy this DC load can be used for testing and evaluating a variety of DC sources such as DC power supplies, DC-DC converters, batteries, battery chargers and photovoltaic arrays. It can operate in constant current (CC), constant voltage (CV), constant resistance (CR) and constant power (CW) mode. The instrument provides flexible triggering capabilities, analogue current control and monitoring and standard USB (USBTMC-compliant). It is complaint to EN61010-1:2001, EU Low Voltage Directive 2006/95/EC safety standards. The 8600 series provides a built-in battery test mode to measure the ampere-hour (Ah) characteristic of a battery and a unique CR-LED mode to simulate the loading behaviour of a typical LED.

- List mode function, adjustable slew rate in CC mode & store and recall up to 100 setups, 250W power
- Flexible triggering options via front panel, external input, timer or bus & remote sense
- Built-in battery test function with voltage level, capacity level and timer stop conditions
- Test modes to validate the OCP/OPP protection functions of a power supply
- Standard USB (USBTMC-compliant), RS-232 and GPIB interfaces with SCPI protocol support
- OVP/OCP/OPP/OTP including local and remote reverse voltage (LRV/RRV) protection
- Thermostatically controlled fan, short circuit test, 0°C to 40°C operating temperature
- Display shows both measured input values and set parameters simultaneously
- Dimension of 8.5” x 3.5” x 15.2” (218mm x 90mm x 387mm) (W x H x D), weight of 9.9lbs (4.5Kg)
