Product Overview

The BQ24210EVM-678 is an evaluation module for bq24210 solar charger. The bq24210/2 devices are highly integrated Li ion linear chargers devices targeted at space limited portable applications. The high input voltage range with input overvoltage protection supports low cost unregulated adapters. The input voltage regulation loop with programmable input voltage regulation threshold make it suitable for charging from alternative power sources, such as solar panel or inductive charging pad. The integrated circuit has a single power output that charges the battery. A system load can be placed in parallel with the battery as long as the average system load does not keep the battery from charging fully during the 10 hour safety timer. The bq24210 battery is charged in three phases conditioning, constant current and constant voltage. In all charge phases, an internal control loop monitors the IC junction temp and reduces the charge current if an internal temperature threshold is exceeded.

Warnings

It is important to operate this EVM within the input voltage range of 4.5V to 7.3V and the output voltage range of 0V to 4.2V. Exceeding the specified input range may cause damage to the EVM.
