Product Overview


The Fuel Tank BoosterPack works with all exisiting TI LaunchPads and includes an onboard Lithium Polymer battery charger as well as gas gauge that can output the critical parameters of the battery including temperature, charging state, capacity and more. The Pack comes with a Lithium Polymer battery pack which is charged through an onboard USB connector.

  • 1 LED for Low battery indication

TI Fuel Tank BoosterPack & MSP430F5529 Launchpad - Review the User guide for the board has a few errors that hopefully the following view will resolve, I mention it in the video but this will provide a much clearer view and will hopefully help prevent users from plugging in components to the wrong pins, I have shown both the Fuel Tank Booster and the MSP-EXP430F5529LP eval board both marked with he same connections what is immediately obvious from the pictures is that the Battery Booster board must mount upside down on the launch pad or be connected to the underside of it where possible. the Booster does have pins and sockets so supports stacking with other booster boards. A: 
1. Remove the positive terminal from the connector on the battery pack
2. Connect a resistor to the positive terminal of the battery. The recommended value of the resistor is 56 Ω, .5 W:
3. Connect the BoosterPack with a USB cable to the PC
4. Connect the negative terminal of the battery to the BoosterPack “BATT” terminal and the resistor to the “CHARGE IN” testpoint
5. Disconnect the resistor and the USB from the BoosterPack. Remove the resistor from the positive
terminal and insert the positive terminal back into the connector on the battery. The battery pack can
now be connected to the BoosterPack BATT terminal and is ready for typical operation.
nb. When Vbatt Voltage reaches 3.5V, the battery will recover and be ready to discharge with voltage out.
