Product Overview

The ADS1230Ref is a circuit board reference design that is designed to feature the ADS1230, a 20bit delta sigma, very low noise, analog to digital converter. This board contains the entire circuitry and user interface needed for a weigh scale digitizer and it is suitable for the general evaluation of the ADS1230 device. The board operates from a 9 volt battery, two supplies are generated by two on-board regulators U1 and U2. A microcontroller, the MSP430F449, is used to supply the memory required to operate an LCD controller, hardware SPI UART interfaces, and a multiplier, used to perform the many firmware multiplications.

  • Power is applied by either a 9V battery or a 9 Volt wall plug adapter
  • Connections for load cells and other voltage sources are provided
  • Designed for very low power consumption
  • Eight digit starburst LCD readout
  • Ample EMI/RFI suppression between the ADC and rest of design
