Product Overview

The 2N689 is a Reverse Blocking Triode Thyristor/Silicon Controlled Rectifier (SCR) designed primarily of half-wave AC control applications such as motor controls, heating controls and power supplies. The thyristor is also used wherever half-wave silicon gate-controlled solid devices are needed. It is a four-layer, unidirectional solid state current controlling device used where high power control is demanded. This product’s precise functionality makes it suitable for practical uses that range from lamp dimming regulators to controlling welding machines.

  • Blocking voltage to 800V
  • 2A Forward peak gate current
  • 10V Forward peak gate voltage
