Product Overview

The MC78L05ACDR2G is a fixed output positive voltage regulator in 8 pin SOIC package. This inexpensive, easy to use device is suitable for multitude of applications that require regulated supply of up to 100mA. Like higher powered MC7800 and MC78M00 series devices, this regulator features internal short circuit current limiting and internal thermal shutdown making it remarkably rugged. No external components are required with MC78L05A device in many applications. This device offers a substantial performance advantage over traditional zener diode−resistor combination as output impedance and quiescent current are substantially reduced.
  • Fixed output voltage of 5V
  • Dropout voltage of 1.7VDC at TJ = +25°C
  • Maximum input voltage of 30V
  • Line regulation of 55mV (7VDC ≤ VI ≤ 20VDC, TJ = +25°C, IO = 40mA)
  • Load regulation of 11mV (TJ = +25°C, 1mA ≤ IO ≤ 100mA)
  • Input bias current of 3.8mA (TJ = +25°C)
  • Output noise voltage of 40µV at TA = +25°C, 10Hz ≤ f ≤ 100KHz
  • Ripple rejection of 49dB (IO =40mA, f = 120Hz, 8 ≤ VI ≤ 18V, TJ = +25°C)
  • Operating temperature range from 0° to +125°C
