Product Overview

OM6270,598 is a I2C/SPI to UART demo board kits which demonstrate SC16IS750 bridge IC which provide high speed serial data communications between an SPI or an I2C host and a UART device via RS232/RS485 while providing IrDA and GPIO interfaces. The demo boards also feature an NXP LPC900 family microcontroller which communicates with the advanced bridge IC via a selectable I2C or SPI interface. By removing the microcontroller, an external I2C or SPI host (microcontroller or embedded processor) may be connected. Each board contains a DB9 serial connector for accessing the UART. The demo boards contain onboard IrDA modules. In this single UART SC16IS750 version, either the UART or IrDA interface may be selected. The demo boards also provide on board LEDs which are controlled by the programmable GPIO.
