MULTICOMP - MC-RP001-CLR - ENCLOSURE, RASPBERRY PI, CLEAR 4.3 5 10 10
Good Case For RPI This case holds the raspberry pi perfectly and the case feels solid. It even has 2 holes on the back for mounting it on a wall or something else. January 18, 2014
Good case I got this case when I got my RPI. It worked great until I wanted to start using the GPIO. As others have said there is no room for any cables to leave, but I now run this without the top attached. With just the bottom it is still a good product. For me it helps to keep the bottom of the pi from accidentally coming into contact with things that it shouldn't. Over all, if you want a case and don't plan on using the GPIO, or you just want a cheap platform for your pi to sit on, get this one. September 6, 2013
Great case! This is a great, inexpensive case for your Pi! It has holes for all the jacks on the perimeter of the board, which line up perfectly. However, it does not allow access to the GPIO headers; if you plan to add daughter cards or expansion boards, you may want to keep looking. Separating the halves of the case is easy......after you figure it out. I have to admit it took me a while to get it done the first time (no instructions provided), because I was being very careful about it. August 7, 2013
No room for camera add on It looks like the downside to getting a form fitting case/holder is it leaves zero room for any add-ons including the camera. If you want just the RaspberryPi with nothing else, this is the case for you. If you want expansion capabilities (like the camera), look to another vendor. July 22, 2013
Pleasantly suprised I haven't received my Pi to put in this case yet, but I was surprised with the quality of the case. I didn't expect it to include rubber feet for grip, slots for ventilation. Also the plastic is a perfect mix of rigidness and flexibility. Shipping was more than I would have preferred, but the unexpected quality made it worth it. February 21, 2013

As a gift for my son I'd like to buy him a transparent case for Raspberry Pi 512MB (the new model). Can you tell me which cases work for this one?

These cases do not allow for access to the GPIO pins, do you sell cases that do have access?

A:
For the part number “MC-RP001-CLR” To access the GPIO header, the cover of the case needs to be removed as there is no access point in the cover. The PI board remains in the base when the cover is removed as it snaps in place.

alternately you can consider Newark part number "92T3300" and "44W3465" which has provision on the casing where GPIO can be accessed
