There is a $36 starter kit p/n 76650-0017 that has pins and sockets and plugs and receptacles. You can pick that up and get started with Mini-Fit Jr, or you can review its contents and pick just the parts you need. See http://www.newark.com/pdfs/datasheets/Molex/76650-0017.pdf to get part numbers for the socket terminal and plugs and free hanging receptacles in 2 and 4 circuit. The datasheet for the starter kit also will give you the p/n for a very nice $240 hand crimp tool and the extraction tool. A trick on the extraction tool: push the wire into the housing or receptacle to slide the terminal forward before pushing the extraction tool into the front. Otherwise the tool will kink the barbs and the terminal will get very stuck in the housing.

Once you have the part numbers you can also request sample parts from Molex to evaluate.

(Also if you're cheap and in a hurry you can re purpose parts from old computers and computer power supplies.)
