How is the "You Saved" value calculated? What do the icons next to the list price represent?

As a newark.com customer, you can save money off the List Price of an item three ways, which are noted in your shopping cart by different icons appearing to the right of the item price.

Icon Meaning
contract Contract Price: A discounted price as a result of your company's contract with Newark.
promotion Promotional Price: A discounted price as a result of a Newark product promotion.
voucher Voucher Price: A discounted price as a result of a Newark discount voucher.
web only Web Only Price: A discounted price as a result of a Newark web only product promotion.
web only Web Only Contract Price - Represents an item that has discounted pricing per your companies agreement, and whose pricing is only available for orders placed on the website.

If an item is eligible for two or more types of discounts, the lowest price will always be displayed. The "You Saved" value is simply the total amount saved as a result of any discounted items in your Shopping Cart.

Do I get the promotional price when I purchase online?

The prices you find on the Newark website do reflect when products are on sale or promotion. You can compare the prices you see on the website with the promotion flyer to ensure you are getting the correct prices.

There are a few products, however, that we cannot discount because of franchise agreements with the manufacturer. The promotional price will not be applied to those products. You'll only see the standard price.

Discounts cannot be stacked. If you are receiving a promotional discount you will not get other discounts such as corporate service agreement or website specific discounts. Different discounts take precedence depending on your company's agreement with Newark.

How do I use my voucher code to receive a discount?

In the shopping cart, enter the code in the Voucher Code field and click "Apply Voucher Code." Please note that voucher codes are case sensitive. You'll see discounted prices for all applicable items in the Price column.

NOTE: Voucher code discount applies to the first price-break quantity only. Discount cannot be combined with other offers, promotions, quantity discounts, or contract pricing. Contractual considerations with a small number of manufacturers may reduce or prevent a voucher discount on selected items; email websupport@newark.com with questions relating to voucher exclusions. Special order items are not subject to a voucher discount.

Why are online prices different from the prices in the paper catalog?

The online price of a product is often different from the catalog price for two reasons:

  • If your company has a corporate service agreement with Newark and you are logged in to the website, you will see prices that are set by the agreement, which are generally lower than the list price in the catalog.
  • During the year, product prices fluctuate due to market changes. Since the catalog is only printed once a year it does not reflect these price changes. We reserve the right to change prices or product availability without notice.

Is pricing different between domestic and international orders?

No. We offer the same product prices for domestic and international orders. However, shipping and handling charges tend to be higher for international orders due to longer shipping distances and more complex shipping document requirements.
