Cirrus Logic's new low power audio codec & Class D speaker amplifier now available at Newark
Latest technology for smart phone and mobile communications
CHICAGO, JUNE 18, 2010 - Newark, a leading multi-channel, high-service electronics distributor in the Americas and part of the global Premier Farnell Group, today announced that it now stocks Cirrus Logic's expanded portfolio at www.newark.com/cirrus-logic to improve the audio experience in smart phones and deliver top performance in idle current consumption in mobile consumer electronics applications.
Cirrus Logic's CS42L73 is a high-quality, ultra low-power audio codec which allows power-hungry smart phones to conserve energy and extend its battery life. This is accomplished by offloading audio-related tasks, such as signal routing and processing, that is typically reserved for the applications processor. The CS42L73 is already built into the XMM Gold 6260 reference design from Infineon Technologies AG.
The CS35L0X is an analog-input, hybrid Class D speaker amplifier that delivers high-quality audio in a mobile handset application, while keeping noise and power consumption low.
It uses an advanced closed-loop Delta Sigma architecture and patent-pending hybrid Class D technology to achieve Class D efficiency, output power with low idle current consumption and minimal EMI.
Whitepapers, videos, datasheets and applications notes for the new products are posted on the Cirrus Logic page on element14, Premier Farnell’s popular engineering resource and collaborative community.
"The addition of these technologies underscores our commitment to provide design engineers with the broadest selection of technology options," comments Jeff Uden, Vice President, Product Management, Newark. "It is also a testament to our longstanding relationship with Cirrus Logic that we are one of the first distributors to stock them."
