Harriet Green, CEO of Newark's parent company Premier Farnell, wins International Stevie Award for Women in Business

 

CHICAGO-NOVEMBER 16, 2007 —Newark (http://www.newark.com), part of the global Premier Farnell Group, and a leading multi-channel, high-service electronics distributor supporting millions of engineers and purchasing professionals across the Americas, is pleased to announce that Harriet Green won top honors at the International Stevie Awards for Woman in Business, held November 12 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, for the Best Executive in EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) for companies with over 2,500 employees.

Presented by Infiniti, the 2007 Stevie Awards for Women in Business is an international competition recognizing the accomplishments of outstanding women executives and the companies they run. The awards are organized by the creators of the prestigious American Business Awards, hailed as "the business world's own Oscars" (New York Post, April 27, 2005).

Stevie Awards were handed out in categories including Best Entrepreneur, Best Executive, Lifetime Achievement, and Women Helping Women at the gala event on Monday evening. More than 800 entries from companies of all sizes and in virtually every industry around the globe were submitted for consideration.

The Stevie Awards for Women in Business are governed by a Board of Distinguished Judges & Advisors that includes many leading women entrepreneurs and luminaries in business. Members of the Awards' Board selected Stevie winners from among the finalists. Finalists were short-listed by a worldwide group of business professionals during the preliminary stages of judging.
