NEWARK INONE NAMES VP, DESIGN & ENGINEERING

CHICAGO AUGUST 15, 2006 — Newark, a subsidiary of global Premier Farnell plc and the leading small-quantity distributor of electronic components, test equipment and RoHS compliant solutions in North America, announces the appointment of George Goodwin as vice president, design and engineering.

Mr. Goodwin joins Newark with more than 20 years of sales, marketing and management experience in the electronic components distribution industry. Most recently he served as Director of Marketing for Insight Electronics (Memec) at its San Diego headquarters.
