NEWARK INONE WINS FIVE NEDA CHANNEL MARKETING AWARDS
Distributor Leads In Its Category 2nd Consecutive Year
CHICAGO (October 28, 2004) — Newark, a subsidiary of global distributor Premier Farnell plc (NYSE:PFP, LDE: pfl) and the leading small-quantity distributor of electronic components and test equipment in North America, announced today that it has received five Channel Marketing Awards from the National Electronic Distributors Association (NEDA), based on the creativity and effectiveness of its advertising among midsize distributors.
Presented at the 2004 NEDA Executive Conference in Chicago last week, Newark received two out of three possible Platinum Achievement Awards for the company's image advertising campaign, which highlights its website's new world-class search capabilities. Additionally, Newark also received three Golden Achievement Awards for other marketing communications, including a co-op advertising campaign.
"We are honored to bring home twelve NEDA Channel Marketing Awards over the last two years," said Paul Tallentire, president of Newark. "Although ultimately our customers are our most important judges, we are pleased that our customer communications have been singled out by expert business marketers."
Judged by a panel of professional business-to-business marketing experts, companies were awarded Gold Achievement or Platinum Excellence awards for a variety of categories, based on criteria such as the advertisement's high degree of visual interest, proper audience targeting and emphasis on the service provided.
