ANOTHER PRODUCT EXPANSION FOR NEWARK INONE:
50,000 Products added in 6 months
Chicago, IL (August 19, 2003) — Newark, a business of global Premier Farnell plc (NYSE:PFP, LSE:pfl) and the #1 small-quantity distributor of electronic components and test equipment in North America, announced today that it has expanded its offering of connectors and electromechanical (EM) products by 30%.
This initiative represents the third major product category expansion for the distributor this year. Since March Newark has doubled its surface-mount and leaded passive components selection and has added 50% more semiconductors.
In this current expansion, Newark improved upon what already was considered the broadest selection of EM products (switches, sensors, relays, power products) and connectors in the industry. "This was a case of the best selection getting better," commented Steven Hopkins, VP Product Management, Newark. "We proactively added more manufacturers, product series and sizes to stay on top of our customers' needs."
Thousands of EM products have been added from new manufacturers APC, Banner Engineering, Gems Sensors, Patlite Corporation, Silicon Sensing and T-Bar/Olympic Controls.
Newark's connector line now spans 20,000 products from such brand leaders as Molex, Tyco/AMP and Amphenol. With more series and options available, customers can find everything from discrete sockets and fine-pitch headers to 150-amp power connectors and MIL-Spec circulars.
Stocking 150,000 products from over 400+ top brand manufacturers, Newark offers the industry's broadest selection of electronics to meet the needs of engineers, technicians and purchasing agents. Its exclusive ProductFind database offers even millions more electronic products, and can be accessed online at www.newark.com. The distributor's new Catalog 121, due out in September, will also showcase the product additions.
