NEWARK ELECTRONICS NAMES NEW SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT OF MARKETING
Chicago, IL (February 11, 2003) — Newark Electronics, a division of global Premier Farnell plc (NYSE: PFP, LSE:PFL), and the market-leading distributor of electronic components and value-added services in the Americas, announced today that Jake Ring has been appointed Senior Vice President of Marketing for the Americas.
Mr. Ring, previously the Vice President and General Manager for American Superconductor Corp.'s Power Electronics Business Unit, will lead Newark's marketing initiatives in the US, Canada, Mexico and Brazil.

Prior to his position at American Superconductor, Ring served as the vice president of marketing for Magnequench, Inc., and filled various roles with Emerson Electric Company. Jake Ring holds bachelor's degrees from Vanderbilt University and an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis' Olin School of Management.
