Product Overview

The 16C120AC is a laminated AC Frame Solenoid with pull operation. The A421-064142-01 offers 100% ON time continuous duty cycle and holes in integral mounting bracket. The AC unit differs significantly in performance, however. In AC solenoid, a relatively high inrush current occurs which decreases as the plunger moves toward the seated position. In general, this high inrush current provides higher forces at longer strokes than the DC versions. The plunger must seat properly for the current to be at its minimum. For this reason, an AC solenoid may never incorporate anti-bottoming features to reduce impact or increase life. If the plunger is not allowed to seat completely, overheating will result.
