The FlexMemory allows to configure some of the on-chip flash memory as enhanced EEPROM, additional flash memory, or a combination of the two. The enhanced EEPROM (EEE) capability of the FlexMemory has a number of features that allow the replacement of external EEPROMs and improves upon their performance: Configurability (distribution of the amount of EEE and flash memory required), High endurance EEE memory (over 100 M cycles depending on configuration), Supports byte, word, and longword accesses, Fast write times (~100 us for a write to a pre-erased location, and 1.5 ms for an erase and program), EEE functionality across the full operating voltage range for the processor (1.71 V – 3.6 V).
