Product Overview

The MCF52259CAG80 is a 32-bit ColdFire Microcontroller. The MCF5225x family consists of highly integrated devices with on-chip USB, Ethernet, CAN and encryption functions featuring the complete NXP MQX™ RTOS software at no additional cost. This document provides an overview of the 32-bit MCF52259 microcontroller, focusing on its highly integrated and diverse feature set. This 32-bit device is based on the Version 2 ColdFire core operating at a frequency up to 80MHz, offering high performance and low power consumption. On-chip memories connected tightly to the processor core include up to 512kB of flash memory and 64kB of static random access memory (SRAM).
  • Complimentary NXP MQX™ software solutions
  • External mini-FlexBus interface
  • Cryptographic accelerator unit
  • System debug support - Real-time trace for determining dynamic execution path
  • Power management - Fully static operation with processor sleep and whole chip stop modes
  • FlexCAN 2.0B module - Listen-only mode capability, content-related addressing, maskable interrupts
  • Universal serial bus On-The-Go (USB OTG) dual-mode host and device controller
  • Fast Ethernet controller (FEC) - 10/100BaseT/TX capability, half duplex or full duplex
  • Four-channel general purpose timer
  • Clock generation features - Trimmed relaxation oscillator
  • Interrupt controller - Uniquely programmable vectors for all interrupt sources
  • DMA controller - Source/destination address pointers that can increment or remain constant
  • Separate reset in and reset out signals
