Product Overview


The ENOCEAN PI 315 transceiver module quickly transform Raspberry Pi into a wireless gateway. It connects energy harvesting wireless devices with Raspberry Pi to help automate networks and automation systems at home or in the workplace. It enables Raspberry Pi to communicate with thermostats and switches to control systems such as temperature and lighting. This module features a SMD mountable radio transmitter module enabling the realization of gateways for EnOcean 315MHz radio systems. EnOcean Pi also features EnOcean’s smart ACK controller functionality. Radio messages can be sent transparently through the serial interface in both directions to and from the Pi. It can act as postmaster for up to 20 bidirectional sensors using smart ACK technology.

I would like to know if the enocean pi connects to the raspberry pi (as is) or is soldering required by purchaser before enocean pi can be used. Is there any other hardware required for connecting enocean pi to raspberry pi ?

A: 
You can connect an EnOcean USB300 gateway to an USB port of the Raspberry Pi or alternatively a TCM310 module.

as in the documentation attached (appropiate board, connector respectively soldering required) if you want to keep free the USB port.
