relay/contactor operation

Details:
When the relay is energized (120v), I asume the contacts will close, and when the relay is de-energized, I assume the contacts will open. I want to use the contactor to enable pump operation based on a tank liquid level float switch. The float switch will normally provide 120v to the relay, but on low level will open, de-energizing the relay. The pump runs on 220vac.
