Product Overview

The 410-205 is a JTAG-HS1 programming cable provides high speed programming solution for Xilinx FPGAs. It is fully compatible will all Xilinx tools and can be seamlessly driven from iMPACT, Chip scope and EDK. The JTAG-HS1 attaches to target board using 6 pin, 100mil spaced programming header or 2x7, 2mm connector. The JTAG-HS1 is powered from a PC's USB port and will be recognized as a programming cable when connected to a PC, whether or not it is attached to the target board. A separate Vdd pin is provided on the HS1 to supply JTAG signal buffers. The high speed, 24mA, three state buffers allow target boards to drive the HS1 with signal voltages from 1.8V to 5V, with bus speeds of up to 30MBit/sec. The HS1's Vdd pin must be tied to the same voltage supply that drives the JTAG port on the FPGA. In addition to working seamlessly with all Xilinx tools, the HS1 is supported by Digilent's Adept software and the Adept SDK.

We are planning to purchase ARC development tools.We have selected two models from different Companies i.e., Ashling's Opella XD for ARC and Digilent ARC JTAG probe for ARC HS1 OR HS2.We are ready to buy any one these.Prior to that we want to know what difference between them.What are the features we are getting if we purchase OPELLA xd viceversa for Digilent .Can you suggest us which one is better option.We have seen Digilent HS1 probe in your cart, Can we able to debug ARC CORE using digilent probe OR this is only for programming or dumping ?

Suggest you to go for Opella XD. Digilent provides the JTAG-HS1 cable for simple debugging with the ARC MetaWare debugger and programming of FPGAs on Digilent boards whereas Ashling's Opella-XD for DesignWare ARC Debug Probe is a powerful JTAG debug probe for embedded development with the ARC processor cores. Opella-XD uses a high-speed USB 2.0 connection to the host PC and supports JTAG rates from 1 kHz to 100 MHz, making it the fastest debug probe in the market. The Opella-XD Debug Probe integrates with the ARC MetaWare Development Toolkit and the ARC GNU tool chain. It supports code download to the target system and allows control and interrogation of all core processor and system resources. Opella-XD works on both Windows and Linux hosted platforms and supports all ARC processor families.
