Product Overview

The SL32 2R025 is a NTC Thermistor with radial leads. It is specially designed to withstand up to 25A of continuous current and 300J of input energy. It absorbs high amounts of inrush current when electrical equipment is turned on by offering a high resistance to current and quickly decreasing in resistance once steady state current begins to flow through the thermistor.
  • 45.4mW/°C dissipation constant
  • 245-second thermal time constant
  • Switching power supplies

AMETHERM - SL32 2R025 - NTC THERMISTOR 5 5 5 5
Good service, good results--review section even helped (Aqua-Rite repair) I have a pool salt system chlorinator that was functioning, but improperly. No schematics, of course, but when I pulled the control card, this thermistor seemed overheated (when I went to take it out, it kind of crumbled, reinforcing the diagnosis). Someone else in the reviews had ordered the same part to fix their chlorinator system, which was another confirmation I was on the right track. 15 minutes to remove and replace and reinstall, and all is well. My brother-in-law the pool guy just recommended I replace the unit. Newark saved me at least $500! April 22, 2015
Satisfied with service and product happy with service and quality of product, would deal with them in the future April 9, 2015
Top rate in service and products Ordered by phone , service rep was very helpful and found the product I was looking for . She was a great help , item was delivered very fast and when installed worked like a charm. I will recommend Newark and use Newark for any future products they carry that I might need.. AMETHERM - SL32 2R025 - NTC THERMISTOR It saved me from buying a new Aquarite controller January 27, 2015
Repaired Hayward Salt Clorinator Board This product was delivered quickly, and without hassle. It soldered in well. Hopefully it will hold up to the heat and last longer than three years. Time will tell. December 2, 2014

A:
Hi, The resistance of an ntc thermistor will decrease as the temperature increases. Being exposed to high heat it's resistance will drop significantly The product is designed to manage heat.

As with all electronic parts that deal with high temps they will sooner or later die on the vine. A cpu without the cooler in a few min. ect.

I replaced mine in an aqua rite system and so far seems to be doing the job and saved a few hundred bucks. Chet Freeport Fl.

A:
In NTC the thermal conductivity will decrease with increasing temperature, You should check the requirement of Resistance and current of NTC for your circuit, this selected NTC might be drawing more current as you mentioned it is getting Heat-up, hence the current capacity of the device with respective to resistance should be changed.
(in your case resistance is 2ohm) and the max current it can withstand is 25A)
